Morning Surprise was purchased by Steve & Debbie Tuttle in 2005 from the family of her original owner, Ms. Paula Liotta.  Sadly, Paula passed away in November of 2004 from an illness.

Originally named "Thunderbolt", Steve & Debbie decided that out of respect to Paula, the Balloon's name would be changed, so that "Thunderbolt" would always be known as "Paula's Balloon".

"Morning Surprise" was the name decided by Steve and Debbie on the morning after her purchase.  Be sure to ask Steve & Deb how they picked that name when you see them... it's quite an exciting story!!

"Morning Surprise's" maiden voyage with her new owners was at Columbia County Airport in the Summer of 2005.  It was a brief tethered-flight, but her immediate beauty made any doubts of purchasing her disappear right away.
