Steve began his ballooning career in August of 2005.  He obtained his Student Pilot Certificate, and shortly thereafter purchased Morning Surprise.  He trained for over a year as a student pilot until obtaining his Private Pilot license in September of 2006.  Ballooning is a relatively new hobby, but he has found it to be extremely enjoyable so far. 

Professionally, Steve works full-time as a Career Firefighter for the Arlington Fire Department in New York.  He is a certified N.Y.S. Paramedic, and also works part-time as an Emergency 9-1-1 Dispatcher.  Additionally on-the-side, Steve serves as the Coordinator for a County-Wide Crisis Response Team in Dutchess County, New York.

Debbie is Morning Surprise's Primary Crew Chief, and enjoys being the "crown lady" during every inflation.  Debbie and Steve were married in August of 2004, and up until our son was born, she worked many years in the insurance business as a customer service rep.  In April of 2006, Debbie brought our son Bradley into this world, and since then, she has been a very busy full-time mom.  She can usually be found in the back seat of the chase-van with a 2-way radio in one hand, and a storybook in the other to keep the "little-man" entertained...

Bradley is the real "Boss"  for Morning Surprise.  He was born in April of 2006, and is the love of our lives.  Who knows, maybe someday we'll see him under the burners as the Pilot-in-Charge!!
