Copake Flying...
at it's finest!

Flying out of Camp Waubeeka in a Hot Air Balloon is one of the best experiences you can imagine!  The views are absolutely beautiful and depending on the direction you travel, there's a good chance your pilot will take you for a little "dip" in one of the nearby lakes...  or what we call in the ballooning world, a "Splash-n-Dash"!!  See below for more information about how you can fulfill that deep desire to go up in a Balloon at least once in your lifetime!!  It's an experience that we're sure you will never forget...

Interested in going up-up-and-away??

Flying in a Hot Air Balloon during a festival just adds to the already awesome experience!  Not only do you get the opportunity to get those terrific pictures of the landscape and mountains, but how many people can actually say that they've had an opportunity to take a photograph of a Balloon, while looking down at it from above??

Typically, a flight will cost you anywhere from $200 to $275 per person.  However, during the Camp Waubeeka events, a flight will only cost you $175 per person.

If you'd like to go for a ride... our passenger meeting location is the blacktop basketball court adjacent to the playground and volleyball court.  Please wait there, and make your presence known to any of the balloon crew that you see!  We will be happy to set you up with a commercial pilot who can take you on your journey!  (Payment is made directly to the pilot at the time of your flight.)

You'd rather just have a "short-ride"?

That's fine too!  In the late afternoon on Saturday, (weather/wind permitting), a couple of balloons will set-up for tethering.  Here's your opportunity to jump in the basket to get a fast adrenaline rush!  A tethered ride will take you up about 50-100 feet to give you a chance to take a look around before returning to earth!

Tethered rides are $5.00 per child (14 and younger) and $10.00 per adult.

As the balloons begin to set up for tethering, you'll see a table set-up where the line will form... that's where you can jump-in and wait for your turn!

You prefer to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground?

No problem!  But you're still welcome to come up to any basket and take a look, take a picture, and ask questions!  Pilots love to talk about ballooning (especially to someone new)!!  Don't be afraid... we don't bite!!  (Unless it's a 5am morning flight before our first cup of coffee... then beware!!)
